Party Poker Software
Party Poker is a world leader in the online gaming community. It is part of the PartyGaming group which is based in Gibralter. The company’s software has origins in India computer science. One of the founders of PartyGaming was Anurag Dikshit (yes, that’s his real last name). Dikshit was hired by an American named Ruth Parasol to code Party Poker’s software and he was given a sizable chunk of the company in the process. Today he is a billionaire and one of the wealthiest Indians in the world. Despite Dikshit’s current wealth he wasn’t able to code stable online poker software at the start. For the period from around 2001 to maybe 2005 or so Party Poker was known for its soft games, horrible support and buggy software. It was routine for the software and servers to crash on a nightly basis for various periods in 2001 and 2002.
Party Poker has come a long way since the Dikshit programming days. They’ve since hired some top-level programmers and the client and server have both come a very long way. The site no longer crashes routine and, while still more memory intensive than PokerStars, the software runs very smoothly overall. PartyGaming is one of the biggest online gaming companies in the world and their stock is traded publicly on the London Stock Exchange. Their software has played no small part in that level of success.
One unique feature of Party Poker software is the Quick Seat option.
