It’s almost undeniable that PokerStars has the best poker software in the online poker industry.  Since PokerStars launched in 2001, they have had the most stable and quickest loading environment of any poker site.  While rival sites like Party Poker and Full Tilt Poker experience frequent crashes and downtime, PokerStars has only had a few major glitches over the last 8 years.

In addition to PokerStars’ stability and speed, they have a highly customizable skinnable interface that allows you to completely change the look and feel of the interface.  In addition, PokerStars was the first online poker software that allowed for resizable tables.  This allowed online poker players to fit the tables exactly to their screen.  Since that release, software like Full Tilt Poker and Ultimate Bet has followed suit with resizable tables of their own.

PokerStars also has been a world-leader in the introduction of alternate games.  Way back in 2001, the idea of an online multi-table tournament was a foreign concept.  The major players in the online poker software industry (such as Paradise Poker) were not technically savvy enough to offer MTTs to their customers.  However, PokerStars launched their software with the ability to handle MTTs with hundreds of entrants.  At the time, this was revolutionary.  And as the Moneymaker-boom hit PokerStars in 2003 and 2004, the site expanded rapidly due to their software’s ability to handle the increased traffic load.  Even today PokerStars has managed to set records with their MTT software.  Recently they hosted a Guinness World Record tournament on their site — the tournament had 35,000 entrants making it the largest poker tournament ever held.
